The minimum period for preparing for admission is 3 months, but the ideal period is 12-18 months. If you want to be admitted this year, then start preparing as soon as possible.
The deadline for accepting applications depends on the university and program. The latest you can apply for Chinese universities is February to June. The deadline for applying for the main grants and scholarships is April 30
There are numerous subjects you can study at Chinese universities, the most in-demand are linguistics, Oriental studies, technical studies, economics, business, and construction.
China has hundreds of scholarship programs with full and partial funding for expenses. Scholarships are given out by the government, both central and provincial, universities, and large companies.
Some scholarships you can apply for:
Chinese Government Scholarship — PRC scholarship for Bachelor's and Master's degrees, PhD programs, and language programs
Fudan University Scholarship — Shanghai province scholarship providing full cover for tuition expenses at Fudan University
Tuition costs are around ¥30,000. However, China has hundreds of scholarship programs with full and partial funding for expenses.
Classes are held both in Chinese and English. English is mainly used in international relations and business programs, as well as translation.
You need to know Chinese at HSK 4 level to study in a Bachelor's program. HSK 5/6 is required for Master's programs.
Studying in China requires an X1 or X2 visa. You can apply once you've been accepted into university.
X1 visas are issued to foreign students who will stay in China for 180 or more days. Students planning to stay less than 180 days are better off with an X2 visa.
You shouldn't defer your admission because of the pandemic, you can travel abroad with a student visa without any issues.
