A successful applicant has a perfect motivation letter, extracurricular achievements, volunteering experience, and minimal Japanese language skills. Having previously a well-developed plan for future academic research is a huge plus for graduate applicants.
There are many university-based scholarships that students can receive upon arrival. Students can also apply for financial aid and request a discount on tuition.
Features of education in Japan
The average tuition fee is 500,000 to 600,000 yen for bachelor's programs, and 400,000-500,000 yen for master's.

The most popular subjects are engineering, IT, science (biology and chemistry), and architecture.

Minimum monthly salary is 130,000 yen.

All Japanese cities and even smaller towns have high standards of living, not only Tokyo. The amount of scholarship doesn't change depending on a city students study in.

Undergraduate students who are fluent in Japanese usually start looking for a job during their 3rd year of studies. Requirements are not that high for entry-level employees.

You can work at your university. The salary is quite good, and university staff members are highly respected in the Japanese society.
