Deadlines for submitting applications for academic year 2022-23
You need to apply a year in advance to study with a KGS grant. The deadline for submitting documents for a Master's program is in February and March.

We're looking for candidates for March and September 2022, and March 2023.

The minimum period for preparing for admission is 3 months, but the ideal period is 12-18 months. If you want to be admitted this year, then start preparing as soon as possible.

There is lots of competition for Korean universities, so it's best to send off your documents in advance. Universities are already accepting applications for 2022.
Areas of study
South Korea has very well-developed biotechnology, bioengineering, medicine and technical professions, as well as economics and management.
Scholarship options
There are many state programs to support foreign students. For example, a Korean Global Scholarship will allow you to study for free at Master's and PhD level, as well as get training in science and Korean for up to 6-12 months.

The grant covers tuition expenses (₩800,000), research work (up to ₩480,000), and life insurance. Students receive money to purchase books once a year.

Moreover, scholarship receivers are rewarded for their success. The size of your payment depends on your performance, and can be from 30-100% of your tuition costs. You can find more information on university websites.

Candidates can also receive scholarships from universities, private funds, and large companies.
Documents required for admission
To be accepted into a Korean university, you'll need:
  • a notarized translation of your certificates and any attachments
  • GPA — your average score on your certificate or degree, you'll need to add up your score on your certificate and divide by the number of subjects
  • a certificate confirming proficiency in Korean or English We help you prepare for testing and receive IELTS and TOEFL certificates
  • a résumé
  • a motivation letter
  • 2 letters of recommendation.
You can also attach your portfolio, financial plan or any additional essays (optional).

If you order partial or full support, you'll prepare your documents with your advisor, who will have studied in South Korea for free.

Cost of living
South Korea has a relatively high cost of living. Monthly expenses for applicants are around €1,000, but they can be partially or fully compensated with the help of scholarships.
Which universities can I be admitted to?
We work with all South Korean universities. Some universities you can apply for:
Language requirements
You can study in South Korea in both Korean and English. To prove your language proficiency, you must take a TOPIK exam (to study in Korean)
Cost of tuition
Education on average costs $6000-14,000, however, Korea offers numerous scholarship programs partially or completely covering expenses.
Student visa
The type of visa depends on the length of the program. Russian citizens can stay in South Korea without a visa for up to 60 days. This period can be changed if you change your residence status.

A C-3 tourist visa is enough for programs lasting up to 3 months. Studying for longer than a semester requires a D-4 visa. It'll allow you to stay in South Korea for the whole study period. This visa is also suitable for short term and long term internships.

Studying at a Korean school, technical college, or university requires a long term D-2 student visa.
COVID-19 pandemic
You shouldn't defer your admission because of the pandemic, you can travel abroad with a student visa without any issues.

The pandemic actually makes it easier to be admitted and receive grants. Students are afraid of entering university and are deferring their education, meaning there's less competition for places.
